We no longer make green chemistry cleaners in Angelina County, Texas that balance public health & mother nature. We made effective, high performing food equipment cleaning products for federally regulated food processing plants and commercial / institutional kitchens. The ingredients for our A1 Category food equipment cleaners were on FDA’s List of Generally Recognized as Safe food additives. We also made retail spray and wipe cleaners that contain low levels of Natural Pine Oil.
Foodborne pathogens cause illness and even death. And the average cost of a single food recall is estimated to be in the millions of dollars.
Our proprietary IzItClean and Pine Cabin Brand formulas were based on the combination of plant-based surfactants and food grade acids which result in synergistic water-soluble solutions that have been shown to have antimicrobial efficacy against pathogens and spoilage organisms, both in the planktonic and biofilm state (Food Environ Virology (2013) 5:215–219, Int Journal of Food Microbiology 2015 Aug 17; 207:1-7, 2021 May 2; 345:109150).
Our products were not harsh and did not leave dangerous residues – Our formulas / cleaners were developed to be safe for the environment and safe for the people that use them.
The noncorrosive water-soluble foaming solutions penetrate equipment niches, lifted soils, and attached to biofilms. With adequate contact time, the green chemistry detergent solutions adhered to, disrupted, or dissolved biofilm matrixes and cell walls whereby enabling penetration of the respective food grade acid(s) inside the virus or bacteria to disrupt metabolic functions and kill the organisms.
IzItClean is a patent pending cleaner that incorporates water soluble Riboflavin (vitamin B2) as a natural fluorescent tracer. The combination of B2 and plant-based surfactants attach to biofilm, food residue, and stay weakly attached after rinsing, thus creating a method for visually detecting unclean hot spots on or in equipment so corrective actions may be taken prior to food production. In addition, the IzItClean method provides a method to study sanitary design of equipment and to train sanitarians and maintenance associates.
